Oude Geuze Boon Black Label
Black Label "Limited Edition" (2015)
Oude Geuze Boon Black Label has been bottled in March 2015. It is made out of a selection of lambic from old oak barrels, foeders, with the highest fermentation degree. The fermentation degree of almost 100% makes the Oude Geuze Boon Black Label extra dry. The 1,2 and 3 year old Lambic used to create this Oude Geuze Boon Black Label is also exceptional. It is the first Oude Geuze made for at least 99% lambic which was brewed in the new brewhouse, built in 2012-2013. The new brew house was officially opened on 19 April 2013. To obtain a blend with enough 3 year old lambic, 1% lambic of the old brew house was added.
The first label of Oude Geuze Boon, now 40 years ago, has been the inspiration for this label. Geuze lovers and fans from back then will recognize the bold white letters “Geuze Boon”.
Black Label "Second Edition" (2016)
In 2015 Boon Brewery presented Oude Geuze Boon Black Label for the first time. This Oude Geuze suited the consumers’ palate very well and in May 2016 it won the gold medal at the ‘World Beer Cup 2016’. Because of the success it was decided to make a new blend, Black Label Second Edition. It was bottled at the beginning of 2016. The result is yet again a bone-dry geuze which tastes –although smoother and having more of an old lambic character – similar to the previous edition.
This Oude Geuze is made from a selection of lambic from oak casks, foeders, with the highest degree of fermentation. This makes Oude Geuze Boon Black Label bone-dry while keeping it full-bodied.
Black Label "Edition N°3" (2017)
The taste of this new Black Label is again slightly different, although the dry finish is still present. A characterful, full-bodied taste, but still bone-dry like the previous editions. Notes of citrus fruits like grapefruit are more discreetly present compared to the Second Edition while vanilla and oak are more prominent. This makes the Black Label Edition N°3 a perfect beer for hot summer days or a great aperitif.
Black Label "Edition N°4" (2019)
Full bodied taste and a dry finish, a perfect combination
